It was decided after some reflection that we needed a new ride. So out came the map, at least I think a map was used, and off we went. As we headed south on 99 I was thinking how great it was to get to ride in near perfect weather in March. We went down below Merced and took La Grand road east to White Rock road. After a stop to discuss the weather, new Harley's, and the state of the union, we started again towards our destination. As the road proceeded to get worse I think I heard Betsey mutter something about our leader. The next fun thing was the road got better and was as smooth as a dirt path in the middle of the foothills can get. This is about the time Betsey really started wondering if she hated Gary or not!! Finally we found the pavement and after a few corners arrived at Raymond Ca. I will say the soda at the corner store is ice cold and of the correct flavor so all was right in the world. Raymond is a great place to stop at, but I would advise going from Mariposa or Coursegold to do so. The last thing is thank your Road Captain that we are out exploring new places so you won't have to try to clean 10 pounds of dirt off your bikes!!!!
