LOH Valentine Ride

WOW, what a great ride! Beautiful weather, great route, and good food, what more could we want.

By 9am Mitchell's H-D parking lot was already full with over 40 bikes and over 50 people. Everyone was ready to celebrate and take advantage of the great weather. We left the shop a little after 9 and headed to the Delta. Gary planned out a really nice ride along the Delta. For those that remember this was the same route we used to take on Tom's Delta Ride. We haven't done that route in a couple years and it was good to get back there. The Delta offers a lot of fun, and scenic roads that have little traffic (other then motorcycles). We also enjoy the ferry which was a first for many of the riders. At the ferry we had to split into two groups for the crossing. Joe Housewright took advantage of the wait by admiring nature (see the 3rd picture below).

The ride took a little longer then planned but no one minded as the sun was shinning and it was almost hot outside. We arrived at the Texas Road House in Tracy around 1:30pm. Sheilla did a great job of setting everything up. There was reserved parking right in front, and even though the Road House had many customers waiting for a table we were able to walk right in to our reserved section. If you've never been to one of these places (Tracy or Lodi) you ought to go. The food is great, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. The serving staff even did a little dance for our entertainment (see the last picture).

The ride was officially over at the Road House but some of us still didn't have enough of the gorgeous weather or riding so Doug Kirk lead us over the Altamont pass twice (going West through Patterson Pass, and then back on Coral Hollow Road).

Thanks Gary and Sheilla for a really great day.
